70th Venice Film Festival

Dates of the 70th Venice International Film Festival: 28th August > 7th September 2013

The first international film festival ever organized began on 6th August 1932 on the terrace of the Excelsior Hotel on the Lido di Venezia. The initiative was promoted by the Venice Biennale. At 9:15 in the evening, on a screen set up on the terrace, Rouben Mamoulian's Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde was shown. The screening was followed by a grand ball in the halls of the Excelsior.
